Specifically, the Optel Vision OCV+ Font Management Tool includes “smart reading” and character by character verification of the reference image before the system even begins product inspections.

How does the OCV+ Font Management Tool work?

Personnel with administrator access create product specific recipes (a.k.a. product libraries). Operators then select a product from this list of predefined recipes and are then prompted to enter the value of the first or lone character string for that product through the easy-to-use touch screen. The operator chooses the corresponding font or selects the custom font option (Optel Vision systems come with the option of having all Window’s fonts preloaded).

The system’s “smart reading” function is then activated and the operator is asked to enter what type of character string will be entered (ie., lot number, expiration date or etc). The operator then enters the string, character by character. After each character is entered the operator is prompted to confirm what the character is.

What else does the OCV+ Font Management Tool provide?

Once the operator has confirmed the string, the OCV+ Font Management Tool then allows the operator to choose the incrementation option. This option is available for any increment, (ie., 1, 2 ,3, etc). That is, the tool allows for inspection of serialized codes, Bollino codes and etc. by any increment.

The Optel Vision OCV+ Font Management Tool, coupled with the Optel Vision 21 CFR Part 11 Tool, provides packaging lines with accurate character string analysis of all fonts and ensures complete data security and system (menu and function) access control. Furthermore, all of Optel Vision systems have direct database linking capabilities, so that all inspection and serialization data can be quickly, easily and securely transferred and stored.
