News Optel Vision Expands Rapidly: Triples Revenue , Opens New Building and Creates 230 New Jobs
As a world leader in its pharmaceutical sector, Optel Vision is meeting the challenges of exceptional growth by doubling their production space in Quebec City. This is a continuation of Optel Vision’s expansion plans in Ireland in 2014 as well as India and Brazil in 2016.
“Optel is seeing remarkable growth. We have increased our revenue by 337 % in 3 years and have hired more than 300 new employees throughout the world, mostly at our head office in Quebec City. We are positioning ourselves as the largest system inspection company in the world for the pharmaceutical sector, all while keeping our headquarters in Quebec City, which is of capital importance to us,” emphasized Louis Roy, President of Optel Vision.
Optel employs more than 450 employees and anticipates hiring 230 new employees before the end of 2016, mainly in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Programming, Sales and Marketing. “Our success depends on technological innovation, but first and foremost on our employees and their know-how. At Optel, we focus on people, accomplishments, respect of the individual and healthy productivity. We also hold dear the development of our community, which is why 10% of our sales goes to buying material and services from Quebec companies,” added Mr. Roy
“Our government has made the commitment to foster job creation as well as economic development in Quebec. Emploi-Quebec has conferred financial support in the form of $300,000 for a training plan that will allow Optel Vision’s new employees to gain cutting edge skills, which demonstrates that it is possible to work together to increase the competitiveness and growth of our businesses,” declared Minister of Employment and Solidarity, Mr. François Blais.
“We are proud that Optel Vision has once again chosen Quebec to pursue its activities and to conquer the business world from here,” declared Mayor of Quebec, Mr. Régis Labeaume. “With activities in Ireland, in India and in Brazil, Optel Vision is a technological feather in our cap and makes us shine on the international stage.”
“It’s amazing to see a homegrown company develops so quickly and I want to congratulate Optel Vision for this accomplishment,” said Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development of Canada. “I am happy to be here today for the announcement of this investment. Our region and our country need strong businesses that can position themselves as leaders in emerging technologies.”
Over the course of the last 27 years, Optel Vision has developed a unique expertise in engineering, in integration, in optics, in electronics, in information technology, in mechanics and in robotics. The company uses this technology to help make the world a better place. “We are a bulwark against criminals who introduce counterfeit medication to market and who cause the death of millions of children around the world, every year,” added Mr. Roy.
Decidedly facing the future, Optel Vision is thinking big. The growth of the company will enable it to expand its field of expertise to other sectors of the industry and thus solving problems to realize its primary objective: a better world for children.
