Once the product is shipped out to a supply chain partner, the serialization data is transferred in a report called an ePedigree.
For some countries is it also required to send the data to a government agency.
For integration using a third party solution provider, the serialization data can be kept at the TrackSafe™ platform level until the product is scanned for shipment. All the EPCIS events that occurred relative to the shipped products are transferred to the corporate IT Solution repository. The latter then initiates the ePedigree creation and/or the notification to the appropriate government agency. The major third party IT solution provider (SAP, Axway, IBM, Oracle) have the appropriate connectors to communicate and transfer the serialization data ownership.
The Optel Vision TrackSafe™ EPCIS platform has a data exchange module that is meant to transfer ePedigree to the supply chain partners (DPMS or EPCIS report) or government agencies (e.g. Turkey MOH). This mode is ideal for manufacturers that are not equipped with an IT solution or those that want to roll out serialization in a step-by-step approach. Administrators can define a new partner and set the connectivity parameter in a few minutes.
